Claudio Cavicchi: Brown Smooth Lovat Tobacco Pipe

Claudio Cavicchi is truly a master of his craft, and his ability to coax the best possible grain out of every piece of briar will always astound me. His over 50 years of experience ensures that his pipes are not only beautiful, but expertly shaped and precisely drilled. This Lovat features a sleek, lithe disposition, with a plump, tall bowl balancing on the end of a comparatively svelte shank, the transition maintaining a near 90-degree angle. The slenderness of the shank affords this pipe a rather gracile disposition and places further emphasis on the bowl for a solidly neoclassical piece. The heel is rounded, and the bowl that rests upon it rises proudly, taking on the slightest bit of taper before reaching the flat rim which overlooks a generous chamber. Dressed in one of Cavicchi's rich, walnut-stained smooth finishes, the stummel showcases handsome grain throughout, with dense flame grain encircling the walls and lining the flanks of the shank.
