Claudio Cavicchi: Smooth Bent Dublin Sitter (CCC) Tobacco Pipe

Claudio Cavicchi is truly a master of his craft, and his ability to coax the best possible grain out of every piece of briar will always astound me. His over 50 years of experience ensures that his pipes are not only beautiful, but expertly shaped and precisely drilled, and all of these are the case with this bent Dublin Sitter. Rather than resting on a flattened heel, this pipe instead sits atop a Cutty-like heel spur that poises this piece in a dynamic forward cant and aptly supports thick, flaring walls that expand out to a broad, domed rim. A flaring shank lifts out of the transition, its end is capped with a similarly flared accent of olivewood: marking the shank's marriage to a black acrylic saddle stem that lends this pipe a comfortable smoking posture. A recipient of three of Cavicchi's "C" stamps, this bent Dublin presents beautiful flame grain around the entirety of the bowl, with the rim displaying a swirling pattern of birdseye, all underneath Claudio's singular honeyed stain.
