Claudio Cavicchi: Smooth Acorn with Bamboo (CCC) Tobacco Pipe

One of Italy's finest pipe makers, Claudio Cavicchi has carved pipes for over 40 years and is still going strong. Cavicchi crafts a wide variety of shapes, and each one showcases spectacular grain patterns dressed in his signature smooth and sandblasted finishes. This Acorn is one of Cavicchi's squatter, more bulbous renditions, pairing an almost spherical bowl to a softly bent shank-and-stem arrangement. The shank is low set, accentuating the bowl's squat form, and meets a thin black ring that marks the beginning of two pale knuckles of bamboo. Dressing the stummel is a honey-blonde, smooth finish that showcases fine tendrils of flame grain along the bowl, reaching a sea of birdseye across the rim.
