Claudio Cavicchi: Brown Sandblasted Horn Tobacco Pipe

Claudio Cavicchi's impressive career in pipemaking spans over half a century. With such extensive experience, it is no surprise that the Italian pipemaker has been able to hone his abilities to a legendary status. This Horn from Cavicchi possesses the shape's characteristic smooth elegance with a touch of neoclassic playfulness in the shortened shank. The pipes flare begins at the bit and expands through the tapered stem into the shank. The bowl continues that expansion on the other side of a wide and gradual transition as it swells into a wide, smooth-finished rim. A meticulous sandblast, orange ochre in hue, accentuates flame grain and concentric stacks of growth rings that guide the eye through the stummel's rim-ward growth. The rim, adorned with knots of birdseye blowing across the surface, frames a deep chamber ideal for longer smokes.
