Italian artisan Claudio Cavicchi boasts over 50 years of pipe making experience and possesses an uncanny talent for bringing out the very best from a block of briar. His portfolio is full of evocative interpretations of classic shapes, and he is known by many artisans to have some of the best grain in the world, with even his non-graded pipes rivaling the top-tier pieces of other workshops. This gorgeous bent Billiard is but one example of his expertise.

This Billiard's bowl possesses muscular, tubular walls and a handsomely rounded heel. The rim of the bowl is crowned with plateau, providing some textural contrast against the smooth, glossy finish decorating the rest of the stummel. Behind the bowl is a dramatically angled shank met by a deeply bent stem. While the angle of the shank-and-stem arrangement doesn't quite grant this offering Oom Paul status, it does make jaw hanging much more comfortable. This offering wears Cavicchi's Brown Smooth finish, whose deep chestnut stain and smooth texture emphasize the hearty flame grain found throughout the stummel.
