Chris Asteriou: Sandblasted Cutty with Silver (46/18) Tobacco Pipe

While Chris Asteriou's renditions of English and French classics are always charming, I'm particularly fond of this rendition of the old Cutty. Sleek and lightweight, with just the right amount of roundness to its waistline, and no shortage of easy taper above and below. The spur just below the transition is particularly jaunty in this rendition, as well, giving the organic impression of a rose thorn, though I'm happy to report you're in no risk of pricking your finger. Finished in a dark sandblast that brings out some well-textured grain, and accented with a broad band of sterling silver, it's a piece with plenty of classical appeal, as well as Chris's modern sense of shaping.
