Clark Layton: Sandblasted Bent Billiard with Moose Antler Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-781-0014
Despite having a number of organic pieces in his portfolio, Clark Layton also has a penchant for English classics, such as this bent Billiard. I can't praise this piece enough; it's simply perfect. The proportions are sublime: the lithe shank and stem tapering gracefully, not too slender nor too stout in their relationship to the tall bowl on the end. And the finish — a textured sandblast that's as glossy and elegant as it is crisp and ring grain adorned. The profile boasts a Swan-neck disposition about it, calling to mind the Dunhill classics of old, while the color palette offers a pastoral appeal, as a trim ring of moose antler separates the Tanshell stummel from a cumberland stem. It's no hyperbole to say that Clark has knocked it out of the park with this one.
