Old German Clay: Markus Fohr Blooming Flower
Product Number: 002-557-0022
Hand-pressed using vintage, traditional brass and iron pipe molds, Markus Fohr of Old German Clay Pipes presents this Blooming Flower design, including a curled heel spur to decorate that essential element, its original use for resting the hot bowl on a surface without burning that surface. Clays become hot when smoked, which is part of experiencing the neutral flavor profile the medium is so well known for. However, clays can take the heat. In fact, the best way to clean your clay pipe is, after smoking has discolored it, to place it in a bed of hot coals in a fire, the heat of which will clean and purify the pipe to like-new condition. The process won't fix a broken clay, but it will certainly spruce up one that's intact. You won't find us often recommending that you put a pipe in the fireplace, but there are always these exceptions.
Note: While all of our other pipes are photographed individually, these are not, and you may expect some reasonable cosmetic variation between the example we've photographed and the pipe you've received.
The pipe you see is the pipe you receive. Click here to see our photography process.
