Old German Clay: Markus Fohr German Tavern Cutty Black

Product Number: 002-557-0032

For centuries, before the use of briar, clay was the primary material used for making pipes, and Markus Fohr's family has been crafting clay pipes in Montabaur, Germany, for generations. This particular piece hearkens back to the traditional Cutty shape that was readily prevalent in taverns centuries ago and was fashioned from fumed clay, giving this piece its darkened color. Its petite, forward canted bowl retains the form's iconic heel spur underneath and is paired to a lengthy, arrow straight stem. Aside from their classic aesthetic, clay pipes offer a neutral flavor profile — perfect for testing out new blends or revisiting tried and true favorites.

Note: While all of our other pipes are photographed individually, these are not, and you may expect some reasonable cosmetic variation between the example we've photographed and the pipe you've received.

Product: Old German Clay Markus Fohr German Tavern Cutty Black
Markus Fohr Tavern Cutty is a slightly smaller but forward canted bowl compared with the Tavern pipe. This is a fun pipe to smoke, one of my personal favorites.
