Old German Clay: Basic Briar Bent Billiard Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-557-0084

While Old German Clay specializes in traditional clay pipes made by Markus Fohr, the artisan introduced a line of briars in 2023. The Basic Briar line was born from Fohr's longtime friendship with the family of Erich Heikaus, operator of HEIBE pipes. HEIBE pipes were popular and well-regarded for their quality and accessible prices. After Heikaus' death, the pipe factory was dissolved and the family began selling old stock pipes online. Later, Fohr purchased the rest of the factory's stock of turned stummels and briar ebauchons. Widely beloved for his clay pipes, Fohr has now added briar to his portfolio. The Basic Briar sandblasted line is composed of classic shapes in a variety of sizes, with each piece finished in a craggy, natural sandblast and fitted with a vulcanite stem. The timeless style and rich finish of the Basic Sandblasted line are admirably displayed in this bent Billiard.

Note: While all of our other pipes are photographed individually, these are not, and you may expect some reasonable cosmetic variation between the example we've photographed and the pipe you've received.

Nice light pipe

Product: Old German Clay Basic Briar Bent Billiard
This pipe is of moderate size and so isn't heavy as some. It smokes well and is a good medium length smoke. It looks nice, smokes well and is easy on the jaw. Good price too.
