Cornelius Manz: Rusticated Pot with Horn Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-831-0029
The rustication enveloping this Pot from Cornelius Mänz is low profile and consistently dimpled across the stummel and rim, and is brilliantly contrasted by a smooth, polished mount of horn at the end of the shank. Cornelius certainly knows how to explore proportion in his compositions, and this muscular version of the classic Pot offers an exceptionally sized shank almost as large in diameter as the bowl, which maintains a low stature and chubby curves. There is a slight taper in the shank from bowl to stem, and that stem features a single, wide expansion ring before reducing to a flat, modified saddle configuration. At a mere 4.15 inches in length, this is a convenient smoker, well suited to jacket pockets and smoking on the run while maintaining a decisive elegance that contrasts with the pipe's expertly exaggerated proportions.
