David Huber: Sandblasted Razor Egg Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-755-0013
"Razor Egg" may win out for one of the oddest shape-names I've ever come across. I can, however, also see where it's coming from, as this is one pretty dramatic reinterpretation of the bent Egg, extremely compressed in the cross-section of the bowl, and even more so in that of the shank. That said, despite David's pushing things so far in terms of playing with proportions, his design is actually very nice in hand — something that surprised me a bit at first since flat-flanked and elongated bowl shapes typically get pretty awkward in that aspect. Elsewhere in terms of practical aspects, while chamber breadth for obvious reasons had to be kept modest, David did provide tons of depth.
