David Huber: Sandblasted Razor Egg with Bakelite Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-755-0014
Though certainly showing a strong degree of cross-section flattening compression at both bowl and (especially) shank, David Huber's Razor Egg is not a sharp-edged shape. Its contours remain smooth, if a bit firmer along the center-line, and overall I would still call this very much a full-bodied sort of briar. Crisply sandblasted, as this one is, it's a design that really makes the most of said stimulating texture, the broad and tall flanks of the bowl engaging the entire palm, as well as the curling fingers. Previously we've seen David complement a black sandblast on this shape with dark cumberland for the stem, but here he's gone with a dapper style of contrast instead, with creamy white antique bakelite.
