David Huber: Smooth Saucer with Boxwood

Product Number: 002-755-0017

Though easily among the more tightly-knit shapes of David Huber's body of work, this Bulldog-esque Saucer shape is undeniably broad of bowl and shank. From above, it calls to mind the look of Tom Eltang's Eskimo shape, though forgoing the characteristic smooth taper of the Eskimo's lenticular shank for a flaring, upward-flicking arrangement. It's perfectly balanced on a flat surface despite the delicate curve defining in the underside, and the handsome boxwood accent offers a lovely contrast to the finish's classic ruby hue. A seriously cool composition from David Huber.
