David Huber: Sandblasted Bent Egg
Product Number: 002-755-0023
David Huber likes to experiment with traditional proportions, and this piece is no exception. Elongated, with a low transition to a gently curving and tapering shank, expanding at the mouthpiece and then dropping to a gradual saddle bit, it's all-black palette and understated, leaving the shape itself to carry it, and it does so with authority. The Egg is a wonderfully organic shape with natural curves from all angles and a well-defined transition that maintains the bowl shape. Canted slightly forward, this pipe carries a subtle forward momentum, flowing almost like water from the stem to the bowl. If you've not yet tried a David Huber pipe, this example deserves some consideration. These are fine artisan pipes at a fraction of the cost you'd expect for this quality.- Chuck Stanion
