Dirk Heinemann: Sandblasted Black Olive Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-793-0046
It's easy to see how this shape from Dirk Heinemann was named. It's primarily black, and its form is certainly rounded and plump in olive form. A remarkably short pipe with a huge presence, it's a bulbous piece, rounded throughout its bowl and maintaining its short length even through the mouthpiece, which itself is short with a dramatic taper to the lip button. Smooth briar contrasts against the dark sandblast at the chamfered rim and the elegant smooth briar ring at the end of the shank, as well as the flattened heel, which provides this piece with the happy ability to sit sturdily on its own. It projects a self-contained impression, almost like a one-piece pipe, while concentrating its visual weight at the stummel.
