Dirk Heinemann: Sandblasted Fish with Olivewood Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-793-0078
German artisan Dirk Heinemann came to pipe carving after working as a furniture designer, using his experience to impressive effect with innovative and unique designs. This Fish is one such piece that displays the influence of Danish designs on Heinemann's style. Similar to the Blowfish, though with ridgeline-defined shank and a more traditionally shaped bowl, in this case, a tapered, Brandy-like bowl that rests on a soft heel with a dynamic forward cant. Said bowl rests at the fore of an immense, teardrop shank with ridge that runs up the left flank. The shank face is capped with a sleek olivewood accent and joins a comfortably bent vulcanite saddle stem. Dressed in a crisp black sandblast, the stummel boasts excellent ring grain around the bowl, elegantly contrasted by the smooth, beveled rim.
