Il Duca: Sandblasted Rhodesian 2 Pipe Set with Case

Product Number: 002-427-0427

Max Rimensi's Il Duca pipes are typically of moderate size, as are the two pipes in this matched set, except for their lengths. These are long, willowy pipes with narrow shanks and gently tapering mouthpieces. The bent Rhodesian has a more vertically compressed bowl, while the straight present a bowl rising in almost Apple fashion, well rounded and perched like a ball at the end of the shank. Each of these pipes has double beadlines with the section of briar between them sanded smooth and contrasting with the black sandblasts in a lighter, mahogany stain highlighting the grain, even in those narrow orbits. Each is very light in hand, belying expectations built from the sizes of the bowls and from the length of each.

The leather carrying case that houses this set of pipes is made by Claudio Albieri, and all of his remarkable workmanship is evident. With an internal loop for the pipes and two separate internal pockets for accessories, it will protect these pipes, or any others you transport in it. It's a duo-tone case in brown and gray, with the Il Duca logo proudly emblazoned on the front.
