Il Duca: Sandblasted Morta Rhodesian with Horn (B)

Product Number: 002-427-0551

Il Duca's progressive Max Rimensi was one of the first pipe makers to popularize the use of morta as a viable alternative to briar. The semi-petrified bog oak is often stained jet-black and sandblasted, which unveils unique, intercrossing grain patterns as seen in this Rhodesian. Shape-wise, the low-slung bowl displays a broad, softly rounded rim and gentle taper toward the heel, reflecting the artisan's penchant for elegant curvature. The transition is tucked beneath the overhanging rim, lending even more emphasis to the bowl. The slender round shank is then topped by a lengthy horn accent, adding handsome contrast against the stummel's dark hue. A refined, dark color palette and sleek profile all culminate in a sophisticated, great-looking pipe.
