Il Duca: Smooth Rhodesian with Silver Cap (D) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-427-0578
Il Duca's Max Rimensi is known for effortlessly delving with great success into various design schools and coming up with classic designs that display his own flourishing elements, often of a more modern nature. The Italian carver has created many Rhodesians, with this unique piece similar to his signature rendering of the design. The broad, forward-urging bowl is topped with a dazzling, domed cap of silver for a contemporary disposition, a striking, gleaming accent that will protect the rim from charring and adds a bespoke aesthetic to this pipe. The inner edge is made of briar, as is the remainder of the stummel and wears one of Il Duca's chestnut-hued, contrast stains, showcasing beautiful, tight-knit striations of flame grain engulfing all flanks and the shank, save for whorls of handsome birdseye populating the pipe's underside and top of the shank. Grain-wise, this piece is a winner, and a testament to Rimensi's ability to read a block of briar and shape it to best show off its natural patterns.-Angela Robertson
