Il Duca: Sandblasted Dublin with Silver (B) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-427-0653
Massimiliano Rimensi is an accomplished artisan based in Ferrara, Italy, who combines Italian and Danish style cues to create a unique aesthetic all his own. He produces pipes under the Il Duca name in honor of his native Ferrara's history under the dukes of House d'Este. This bent Dublin is a fine example of that work, featuring a silhouette we haven't seen before in his renditions of the shape. The bowl displays supple walls that taper gradually to a spurred heel at the fore of a defined transition to a slim round shank which flares at its junction to an arrow-straight vulcanite stem. Said junction is accented with a silver cap at the shank face, creating a unique accent that recalls the military mounts of more traditional pipes. Dressed in rich ocher contrast stain, the sandblasted stummel boasts fine ring and flame grain in equal measure around the bowl.
