Il Duca: Sandblasted Cherrywood with Boxwood (B) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-427-0688
Il Duca pipes are handmade in Italy by Max Rimensi, the name "Il Duca" honoring the historic rulers of his hometown Ferrara. His design style often favors slender shapes, exuding a high degree of refinement and elegance and spanning classic and more avant-garde shapes alike. This Cherrywood rendition beautifully showcases Rimensi's elegant and sleek shaping style in a delightful finish.
This piece is Rimensi's signature interpretation of the Cherrywood shape. It's marked by an angular and organic disposition, with the bowl urging forward and the shank departing the transition like a brand growing from a trunk. Perfectly balanced, it sits sturdily upright upon the flattened heel, and the sandblasted finish also bears Rimensi's signature touch: a rich, ochre-toned contrast stain that furthers the pipe's organic appeal. Lastly, a slender ring of boxwood punctuates the hand-cut stem's black vulcanite to harmonize with the stummel's stain.
