This Rhodesian by Il Duca offers a refined interpretation of the traditional shape, combining the shape's traditionally crisp structural elements with flowing, organic lines. The bowl rises from a gently lifted heel, while a soft undercurve lends the composition a subtle forward momentum. A broad oval shank emerges seamlessly from the tight transition before tapering into a richly hued cumberland stem, the warm tones of the mouthpiece standing in vivid contrast to the stummel's dark, sandblasted finish. Rather than utilizing the Rhodesian's conventional beadlines, Rimensi carves a clean ridgeline around the bowl, reinforcing its taper and adding a sense of architectural definition to the profile. The stummel is dressed in a deep black sandblast that reveals rippling waves of ring grain climbing the bowl, while flecks of birdseye scattered across the rim provide added texture.
