Dunhill: Amber Root Quaint Belge (2) (2018)
Product Number: 002-015-4217
Dunhill's take on the age-old Belge design, a shape which dates back to when pipes were fashioned out of clay, is typically featured in Group 2 size and either pairs it with a streamlined stem or, as seen here, one of elegant, Prince-like bend. It's presented as part of the Quaint series since Dunhill doesn't have a shape number devoted to the Belge, and it poses a sleek, trim, and forward-canted profile, all dressed in the English marque's smooth and traditional Amber Root finish.
One of Dunhill's more recent finishes, the Amber Root was introduced in 1995. Like the Root Briar, it showcases a smooth stain, accentuating the briar's natural grain in traditional style. Typically auburn-hued, the Amber Root is often a touch darker in color than that of the Root Briar, pairing handsomely with the jet-black stem for an aesthetic that combines the grain definition of the Root Briar finish with the darker, smokier tones of the Bruyere.-Truett Smith
