Dunhill: Chestnut (5104) (2017)
Product Number: 002-015-4311
While the shaping of the bowl and shank is rather traditional on this Dunhill "04" Bulldog — featuring a bead-lined bowl, tapered above and below, and a crisp, diamond shank — and the stem is anything but standard. The push-style mouthpiece curves horizontally at a 45-degree angle just past the stem logo, making this a piece that's as rare and collectible as it is whimsical.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.-Truett Smith
