Dunhill: Christmas Pipe 2019 Shell Briar (42/300) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-4329
A special Dunhill series in and of itself, the English marque's Christmas pipe is an annual series featuring a limited-number run of special briars accompanied by book-style presentation cases and specifically designed tampers cast in sterling silver. Thus far, the longest running edition of the collectible series was a thematic line inspired by the The Twelve Days of Christmas that was released annually between 1993-2004, each year based on an individual verse from the classic English carol. Dunhill's latest Christmas series, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, was introduced in 2011 and will run until 2022. This particular piece is number nine within the series and is centered around the battle between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King.
2019's Christmas pipe is a classic straight Dublin, with this particular Group 3 piece finished in the Shell Briar sandblast, featuring a softly inflated rim that's stained a rich Bruyere-esque hue. It's handsomely accented by an ornate sterling silver mount, engraved with the year and paired to more silver at the stem base for a spigot mount configuration. It works in tandem with the Shell Briar's jet-black stain to create a classy dress pipe aesthetic and enables the pipe to be broken down at any time, even while it's still hot. The accoutrements are then complemented by a detailed sterling silver tamper that depicts the battle between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King. It's presented in a book-style leather presentation box and comes complete with its own certificate of authenticity.
