Dunhill: County (4106) (2016)
Product Number: 002-015-4384
Dunhill's "06" is the epitome of the classic English Pot, and one that still retains a handy, compact disposition even in Group 4 size. The bowl is appropriately stout and muscular, the arrow straight shank and stem comparatively trimmer and accentuating the bowl's visual presence. Its flattened underside allows it to sit stably and the sandblasted finish has coaxed out plenty of rich texture. Dressed in the earthy stain of the County series, waves of ring grain creep up the bowl before meeting the smooth rim while the cumberland mouthpiece wraps everything up quite nicely.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.- Jeffery Sitts
