Dunhill: Chestnut with Horn (3108) (2018)
Product Number: 002-015-4479
Dunhill's "08" bent Bulldog comes in two varieties, with either the diamond shank of a Bulldog or the Rhodesian's rounded one. The former is offered here for a classic, masculine style. In Group 3 proportions, the form is of convenient size, the squat bowl here marked by a pair of beadlines beneath the rim's taper. It's fitted with a creamy horn mount, the organic medium shaped to perfectly align with the shank's ridgelines while pairing handsomely with the warm hue of the Amber Root finish.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.-Truett Smith
