Dunhill: County (5204) (2017)
Product Number: 002-015-4487
This solid "04" Bulldog from Dunhill is a Group 5 size, compact in stature, but with a tall, pert bowl that forgoes the traditional twin beadlines in favor of a single, very subtle ridgeline around the waist. That line echoes to the concise, crisp lines of the diamond shank and offers a fetching contrast to the bowl's curves. Also, this Bulldog wears Dunhill's well-executed County sandblast, except for the smooth rim, exhibiting beautiful striations of ring grain up the bowl for textural delight.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.-Angela Robertson
