Dunhill: Cumberland with Horn (6102) (2018)
Product Number: 002-015-4493
When rendered in Group 3 proportions Dunhill's classic "02" bent Billiard offers the perfect combination of sinuous lines and robust curves, all while remaining natural in hand and able to comfortably hang from the jaw. Such shaping cues create a graceful, elegant silhouette that showcase Dunhill's signature approach to classic shapes. The warm stain of the Chestnut finish emphasizes its traditional appeal with a pale horn mount providing some tastefully reserved contrast, two dark streaks along the top and bottom matching well with the cumberland mouthpiece.
When Alfred Dunhill released his patented Shell Briar, he forever changed the pipe smoking world at large. Dunhill has often been credited with being the first to offer sandblasted pipes (arguably the most popular finish today), and the Cumberland finish further displayed Dunhill's innovative spirit. Well received after its release in 1979, the Cumberland series was named for the English marque's warehouse on Cumberland road, and the line's signature, brindled vulcanite stem became so iconic, the warmly striated material is now referred to simply as "cumberland."- Jeffery Sitts
