Dunhill: Cumberland (6102) (2018)
Product Number: 002-015-4551
Rendered in Group 6 size — Dunhill's largest standard size designation — this "02" bent Billiard is quite the bold rendition, yet still maintains an air of elegance with its classic disposition. Tall and voluptuous, with a deep chamber and soft, extended heel melding into the gracefully arcing shank and tapered stem, this piece exudes refinement and is dressed in the warm palette of the English marque's Cumberland line.
When Alfred Dunhill released his patented Shell Briar, he forever changed the pipe smoking world at large. Dunhill has often been credited with being the first to offer sandblasted pipes (arguably the most popular finish today), and the Cumberland finish further displayed Dunhill's innovative spirit. Well received after its release in 1979, the Cumberland series was named for the English marque's warehouse on Cumberland road, and the line's signature, brindled vulcanite stem became so iconic, the warmly striated material is now referred to simply as "cumberland."-Angela Robertson
