Dunhill: County Quaint Bent Brandy (5) (2019)
Product Number: 002-015-4932
On Dunhill's standard shape chart, the classic bent Brandy is designated by a "33" stamp. That shape often presents a broad, somewhat flattened heel akin to the Volcano, but this Quaint rendition is more rounded and Egg-like in profile. The Quaint series features designs that don't ascribe to the English marque's number shape chart, offering more unique iterations, and this piece is fitted to an elegant bent, poising the tall bowl at a forward cant. In Group 5 size, the bowl houses a deep chamber and offers plenty of robustness for in-hand comfort.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.-Truett Smith
