Dunhill: Bruyere (4124) (2019)
Product Number: 002-015-4945
Dunhill's "24" shape is that of a Foursquare, with paneled sides to both the bowl and shank, to create a rugged, serious profile that sits reliably. This rendition is offered in the English marque's Group 4 size for a versatile pipe ready for a variety of smoking situations. The clean, crisp lines are dressed in the dark tones and smooth surface of the Bruyere finish, adding this piece to the long line of timeless classics boasting that pedigree.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.- Joel Balyeat
