Dunhill: Bruyere with Horn (2102) (2019)
Product Number: 002-015-5079
Fostering a classic, sweeping profile, this "02" bent Billiard from Dunhill is rendered in Group 2 size, one of the most rare and the second smallest size among the English marque's designations. A lightweight design that's perfect for hands-free clenching yet imbued with a softly rounded bowl that houses a respectable chamber, this piece boasts clean lines and supple curves. It's accentuated further by a military mount of horn, its pale and smoky hues complementing the handsome Bruyere finish.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.-Angela Robertson
