Dunhill: Bruyere with Silver Spigot (3102) (2019)
Product Number: 002-015-5236
Spigot-mounted pipes are extremely rare from Dunhill, and the English marque's only makes a very select few each year. This iconic "02" bent Billiard shape is one such rare example, wearing Dunhill's easily-identifiable Bruyere finish. The silverwork is handsome, and quite functional as well, allowing the pipe to be broken down for cleaning even while hot. If you are looking for a Dunhill spigot, don't sleep on this elegant piece.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.- Joel Balyeat
