Dunhill: Bruyere with Horn (2102) (2019) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-5292

Dunhill's "02" bent Billiard is a tried and true shape: a classic on their standard shape chart. Here, the piece is rendered in sleek Group 2 dimensions, creating a svelte, lean profile that accentuates its fine craftsmanship and fluid lines. With its stout, cylindrical bowl, smooth transition, and S-curve, this piece is elegantly rendered, flowing from rim to bit. The shank end is adorned with a horn military mount, enhancing the timeless profile with a handsome, practical addition that allows for the breakdown of the pipe, even while it is still hot. The Bruyere finish that dresses the briar further increases the classic charm of this piece with its deep ruby-auburn hues.

The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.
