Dunhill: Chestnut (5120) (2018)
Product Number: 002-015-5365
Similar to the "22" Poker, Dunhill's "20" Cherrywood pairs a sure-sitting, cylindrical bowl to a low-set transition, with the primary difference being the addition of a gently bent stem. Such a design cue is reminiscent of the elegantly downturned stem of the Prince shape and serves to offer a greater sense of balance when clenched. It's found here in Group 5 proportions with the bowl displaying a hint of forward cant and is handsomely dressed in the dark palette of the Chestnut finish.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.-Truett Smith
