Dunhill: Shell Briar Quaint Bent Dublin (2) (2021) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-5391

An eye-catching piece defined by a svelte, lithe disposition, this Group 2 bent Dublin from Dunhill is part of the marque's Quaint line, denoting pipes that don't ascribe to The White Spot's numbered shape chart. The trim bowl displays a subtle flare toward the rim, along with a rounded heel. An elongated, bent stem makes for a striking, easy-flowing piece that's lightweight and should be a fine clencher, and it's dressed in the texturally pleasing, dark Shell Briar finish.

The Shell Briar's addition to the Dunhill catalog was a pivotal moment in pipe smoking history. Before 1917, pipes with sandblasted finishes had never been made, and Alfred Dunhill's innovative mind created arguably the most popular finish for pipes today when he unveiled the Shell Briar. With its dark, reserved color palette and delightful texture, it's no surprise that it's still wildly popular over a century later.
