Dunhill: Shell Briar Stubby (4106F) (2016) (9mm)

Product Number: 002-015-5412

This "06" Pot from Dunhill is particularly stocky and compact, thanks to its Group 4 bowl and "Stubby" designation, which features shapes rendered in muscular, Nosewarmer proportions. Boasting plenty of chamber within thick walls, it's a great pocket pipe that's dressed in the dark Shell Briar sandblast, The White Spot's original and most popular finish. As an "F" shape, it's been drilled to accommodate a 9mm filter — a rare offering from Dunhill.

The Shell Briar's addition to the Dunhill catalog was a pivotal moment in pipe-smoking history. Before 1917, pipes with sandblasted finishes had never been made, and Alfred Dunhill's innovative mind created arguably the most popular finish for pipes today when he unveiled the Shell Briar. With its dark, reserved color palette and delightful texture, it's no surprise that it's still wildly popular over a century later.
