Dunhill: County (3229) (2021) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-5615
In petite Group 3 size, this "29" Author from Dunhill is a classic shape, though one not often crafted by the English marque. The Apple-like bowl features a smooth rim that offsets the crisp, County sandblasted finish dressing the stummel. The shank kicks high out of the robust transition before giving way to a saddle stem of brindled vulcanite. Dunhill's saddle-stemmed renditions of the Author shape are quite rare, making this a highly collectable piece, especially for those who enjoy compact, travel-friendly designs, with this pipe coming in barely over five inches in total length.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
