Dunhill: Bremen Town Musicians Cumberland (3106) (24/30) Tobacco Pipe

This special offering from the White Spot is part of a limited-edition set of pipes based on fairy tales by German brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. This set was conceptualized by Mademoiselle Léopoldine Favre, a friend of the marque from Paris, and commemorates the Town Musicians of Bremen, four aging animals who traded in their domestic servitude to form an unlikely musical troupe. Only 101 of these sets were made, with 20 each available with Bruyere and Chestnut pipes, 30 each with Cumberland and Shell Briar renditions, and a single Amber Root version. The Amber Root example was gifted to Favre, and the No. 1 sets of each finish are, by tradition, added to Dunhill's museum, making the remaining sets even more collectable.

This offering is set number 24/30 of the Cumberland variant, rendering the marque's "06" straight Pot in Group 3 size, with the ruddy sandblast and namesake Cumberland stem. As with each pipe in the series, it features a broad silver rim cap bearing the title of the series, as well as a matching shank accent engraved with the letter "B." The pencil-thin shank and sleek flare of the tapered stem amplify the elegance of the silver fitments, and the coloration of the Cumberland provides a companionable contrast.

Each set comes complete in a Prestigious leather-bound book to facilitate handsome display, the olive-green cover of which bears the title of the story, names of the authors, The White Spot logo on the spine, and a pictorial of the story on the front. An elegant sterling silver tamper is included, with depictions of the story's lively characters standing atop one another.
