Dunhill: SPC Two Pipe Set 2021 Shell Briar/Bruyere (9/15) (with Ventage Case) Tobacco Pipe

In 2020, to celebrate our 20th anniversary here at Smokingpipes, we collaborated with The White Spot on a limited-edition set of pipes. For 2021, the collaboration continues with another limited run of two-pipe sets, consisting of the iconic "01" straight Apple and the timeless "02" bent Billiard, both in Group 3 size. Comprising 31 total sets, the series offers the "01" and "02 pairing in three finish combinations: Cumberland and Chestnut, Shell Briar and Bruyere, and Root Briar and Ring Grain, the latter dressing just one of the sets. Each piece in the series is adorned with a sterling silver accent, and each pairing comes packaged in Dunhill's patented Ventage case.

The "3201" straight Apple in this particular set pairs a petite, rounded bowl to a trim, low-set shank-and-stem arrangement for a sleek, streamlined profile. Well-balanced proportionally and offering a comfortable, lightweight presence in hand, the "01" wears the stunning, smoky Bruyere finish that showcases an abundance of vibrant grain. The stummel's finish matches perfectly with the jet-black saddle stem for a classic aesthetic that's lent a dose of flash by the sterling silver band at the junction. The "3102" bent Billiard presents a more willowy profile compared to the "01," with the shank-and-stem combination snaking out from the low-slung transition and striking a sinuous S-curve to provide comfortable jaw-hanging. The plump, full heel tapers gradually toward the rim, and the bowl in its totality houses a nice bit of chamber capacity. The stummel wears the dark, grain-defining Shell Briar sandblast, which is complemented perfectly by the tapered stem of jet-black vulcanite. Elegant and refined, this set will no doubt become a prized part of any pipe smoker's collection.
