Dunhill: Chestnut Quaint Bent Billiard (3) (2018) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-5719

Dunhill's bent Billiard renditions are nothing short of classics, with their sinuous forms being influential enough to inspire shape charts from around the world. This, however, is not one of those bent Billiards. Indeed, it is a Quaint, meaning that it differs from their standard shape chart, something you can plainly see even by a passing glance. This piece showcases a much more demure curvature about it, with a fairly straight shank and a gently downturned stem. Additionally, we see a fairly tall bowl paired to said shank, standing proud on a pronounced heel and holding a respectable chamber. Dressed in the warm, glossy stain of the Chestnut finish, the stummel showcases some handsome birdseye on either flank of the bowl, and its pairing to a cumberland stem ties the entire composition together quite nicely.

A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
