Dunhill: Bruyere (4102F) (2020) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-5789
One of the most iconic pipe designs, the bent Billiard has been a mainstay on the classic shape chart since pipes first started being carved from briar. Dunhill is known for its traditional realization of classics, and for many collectors and pipe smokers, the English marque's "02" bent Billiard is considered the archetypal rendition to which all others are compared. Here, in Group 4 size, it's a bold and regal example, with this particular example accommodating a 9mm filter for pipe smokers who prefer filtered options.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.-Truett Smith
