Dunhill: Bruyere (2105) (2016) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-5820
Second only to Dunhill's Group 1 size designation, Group 2 is the English marque's smallest and one of the rarest among the other sizes. Such petite size turns this "05" Dublin into quite the lightweight design, ideal for hands-free smoking and convenient travel. Dunhill's esteemed, classic style is well maintained, though, with perfect proportions between the squat bowl and shank, making for a beautifully traditional pipe that's perfect for short and sweet smoking sessions, made all the more attractive (and rarer) by a rounded military mount of black vulcanite.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.-Truett Smith
