Dunhill: Bruyere with Horn (3106) (2018) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-5823
It's not very often that we see the old Bruyere stain paired to the organic, creamy look of natural horn, as seen in this horn-mounted Dunhill Pot design. The marque's "06" is a classic shape through and through, the Group 3 bowl's refined muscularity on vivid display. It's topped by a jet-black, vulcanite stem of the fish-tail variety, the color matching a trim band between the military mount and the transition.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.-Angela Robertson
