Dunhill: Bruyere Quaint Bent Billiard with Silver (3) (2019) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-5825
Dunhill's Quaint series offers unique shapes that don't appear on the marque's standardized shape chart, like this bent Billiard design. The tall, forward-canted bowl possesses a ridgeline-wrapped heel that adds a touch of structure to the composition. The oval shank and tapered stem strike a fluid S-curve out back that promotes a comfortable smoking posture and adds fluidity to the pipe in profile. It's all dressed in the smoky Bruyere finish and accented with a band of sterling silver for a stylish presentation.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.--Davin Hylton
