Dunhill: County (5222) (2017) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-5917
The "22" is Dunhill's take on the utilitarian Poker shape, and it's here presented in robust Group 5 size, the English firm's second-largest standard size designation. The tall cylindrical bowl sits sturdily atop of its flat heel and possesses a subtly cinched waistline that emphasizes the visual congruity of the rim and heel. Out back, the shank ebbs from the low-set transition, just above the bowl's base, and meets a saddle stem of cumberland, its auburn hues harmonzing rather well with the rustic County sandblast that dresses the stummel.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
