Dunhill: Bruyere (2104) (2019) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-5922
Dunhill's "04" straight Bulldog forgoes the squat muscularity associated with the traditional form in favor of more petite proportions, given its rare Group 2 size. While this piece is sleek and streamlined, it remains classic in its design, with the iconic beadlines, sloping flanks, and crisply lined diamond shank and stem confirming the White Spot's timeless form. It's dressed in the marque's handsome Bruyere finish, the smoky tones adding further refinement.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.-Angela Robertson
