Dunhill: Chestnut (4412) (2017) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-5967
The "12" shape is one of Dunhill's more interesting configurations. Though displaying a tall Billiard bowl of Stack-like proportions, in profile, the design is quite balanced, matching that visual weight of the bowl with a subtly downturned stem that really works to balance out the composition. Here we see the unique briar presented in Group 4 proportions, lending even more depth to the chamber.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
